INCO WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 11/13

CONGRATULATIONS!
We've made it through the year since Trump’s election - with determination, patriotism, and optimism. Joining forces with Indivisibles nationwide, we've stalled Trump's legislative agenda. As shown by last week's victories in Virginia, Washington state, and elsewhere, Indivisibles are inspiring new candidates and getting out the vote.

INCO and the resistance need you more than ever.
Even if Trump leaves office tomorrow, there would still be Trumpism - and worse. Steve Bannon and Mike Pence have separate ideologies based on disruption, turmoil, and division - and they and their followers are still a threat to America and our democratic values. Trump’s departure won't end America’s problems.

With your help, INCO will continue to rally for truth and science, defend Dreamers, inform our communities, increase civic engagement and voting, and be good neighbors in our corner of the world.

INCO is each of you, and your participation makes the difference.
Get active with INCO's Community Groups, Resistance School, Readers Group. Join an INCO’s Team: Events, Oppose Bigotry, Vote the Future. Share your ideas, energy, and imagination. Check the newsletter calendar every Monday or “Events” on our blog and in our Facebook group to find activities.

Contact your Members of Congress now.
How will they know what you want if you don't tell them?

STOP THE TAX SCAM! The House votes on the Trump Tax Scam THIS WEEK, so WE NEED TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON. Neither the House or Senate bill offers much of a tax cut for middle-income Americans. Instead, both bills provide huge tax relief to corporations and wealthy people. Call scripts for House Democrats are hereand call scripts for your Republican representatives are here

PROTECT AMERICA'S TRADE, SAFETY, AND STANDING IN THE WORLD.  "America First" is increasingly "America Alone." The Washington Post presents an excellent overview of the global leadership vacuum being created by Trump. Details from Indivisible here.

PROTECT THE MUELLER INVESTIGATION. Recent  indictments and other developments threaten Trump, his administration, and his family. Details here.

SUPPORT THE DREAMERS PLEDGEAt DREAMerPledge.org, we’re calling on every member of Congress to refuse to pass a budget that doesn’t include a clean DREAM Act. The sooner we ramp up the pressure, the faster we can win protection for 800,000 immigrant youth.

Share Info about the ACA
Deadline for enrolling is December 15.

Cheers to local Indivisibles who are passing out flyers about enrolling in the Affordable Care Act. No hard sell -- just "do you have health insurance?" or "here is how to sign up for the ACA"  or something friendly. The flyer gives the web site and phone numbers to start the process of getting covered.  Upper North Coast Community Group Indivisibles are posting posters at south county businesses.

Check out OregonHealthCare.gov for more information. Enter your zip code here to find local resources.. Here's one guide to enrollment. The Indivisible Toolkit for the ACA ishere. There is still a penalty for going without health coverage.

Make copies of this color flyer or this black & white flyer to distribute.

The Mueller investigation gets closer to Trump. If Trump and GOP conservatives try to fire Mueller, check INCO's Facebook page and  email about INCO's response, most likely a rapid response rally in Astoria.

A brief online article with a video in The Atlantic describes "How America Lost Its Mind."  An interesting take on the American culture and personality - not just about politics.
