Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are in crisis, after being devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. President Trump’s response has been sorely lacking. Rather than working to get them aid, he went golfing http://wapo.st/2fFJWVY. 
Puerto Ricans are Americans and deserve a government that will fight for them – fight for their lives. The Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulìn Cruz, literally is “begging, begging anyone who can hear us to save us from dying.” 
Horrifically, it appears her pleas to the President have fallen on deaf ears. Rather than sending help, he chose to attack her. http://lat.ms/2yR1tzo
Cruz desperately needs our help. She's asked us to “Call our local representatives. Call everyone you can. Let’s show the world the generosity, the audacity and the hope that the U.S. can provide. You are a country of the people. Just let the people shine. Let them shine.” http://bit.ly/2kbOK7e
Our fellow Americans are suffering. We and our Congress must rise up and show the people of Puerto Rico our generosity, audacity, and hope.
