A new DREAM Act introduced by Sens. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) needs our support. The bill would make the Obama-era DACA program legal,
-- providing a path to citizenship for more than 1 million children who entered the US without permission; and
-- blocking a lawsuit to end DACA threatened by ten State Attorneys General http://wapo.st/2v1Hdva

The AGs stand a very good chance of winning especially since the Administration is unlikely to defend the program http://wapo.st/2hsnpfo.

The economic argument for the DACA program is unambiguous:
-- DREAMers make on average 40% more than they did before having DACA protection;
-- high percentages are buying cars; enrolling in higher education; changing to jobs that fit their skills; and starting businesses at twice the national average http://ampr.gs/2vmNRNp

The destruction to lives, families and communities is unambiguous:
-- DHS recently deported two Maryland brothers with no criminal record; one was headed to college on a scholarship and the other was still in high school http://wapo.st/2u8OD0v.
-- A 23-year old agricultural worker with DACA protection was still deported http://bit.ly/2hrI0AC.

Let’s tell our Members of Congress to work across the aisles to push this bill across the finish line.
